If puppy steps in, the disk drops and the puppy's foot sinks to the bottom. Wishing to avoid this, they quickly learn to keep their feet out of the water, using problem solving strategies. 

The tough plastic ring seals around the top of the bowl keeping the floating disk in place. Comes apart for easy soap and water clean up.
